DemoTV

DemoTV is an audience-ranked station for discovering and comparing independent product demos. Founders can submit videos, embed approved demos on their websites, collect viewer inquiries and optionally commission demo production or labelled promotion without buying ranking.

DemoTV

Overview

DemoTV is an audience-ranked product-demo station for discovering independent products and watching short demonstrations. Founders can submit a demo for free, receive an approved listing, and use that listing to present their product on the station and through an embeddable website widget.

The station’s core mechanism is the Channel Battle: viewers watch two demos and back the one they would try. Audience votes contribute to an Elo score used for Channels 1–3 and the broader directory ranking. Paid airtime and sponsorships can provide labelled exposure, but they do not buy a higher score or channel position.

What DemoTV provides

Free demo submissions

Founders can submit a 30–90 second demo through a YouTube link or an MP4 upload up to 40 MB. Submissions are reviewed before publication.

Audience-ranked Channel Battles

The station presents products in head-to-head viewing sessions where viewers back the product they would try. Those choices feed the audience ranking.

Embeddable product widget

An approved listing includes a reusable responsive iframe containing the product video, an optional try link and one chosen next-step button.

Optional interactive demos

The widget can link to a tour or, after manual company approval, display an authorised interactive demo inside the widget with a new-tab fallback when framing is blocked.

Configurable calls to action

Founders can choose actions such as Visit website, Start free, Join waitlist, Book a demo or Claim offer. DemoTV records clicks, not completed signups.

Demo production service

For founders without a finished video, Demo Studio creates a 45–60 second 16:9 MP4 and social pack through automated production with human oversight, one revision and station review before airing.

How people use DemoTV

  • Launching an independent product

Submit an existing product clip, wait for station review, and use the public listing to put a working product in front of viewers without paying for a ranking position.

  • Adding a demo to a product website

Add the reusable iframe to a landing page so visitors can watch a demo, open an optional tour or interactive demo, and follow one selected action such as starting free or booking a demo.

  • Testing audience interest

Use Channel Battles as an audience discovery path: viewers compare two products for a similar job and the resulting choices contribute to their relative station ranking.

  • Collecting inbound product feedback

Claim and manage a company listing, configure published links and receive viewer intro requests through the station’s dashboard and email where configured.

  • Producing launch-ready demo assets

Provide a product URL and short brief to Demo Studio when an existing video is unavailable, then review the generated draft and use the delivered MP4, listing, widget and launch materials.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Free submission and indefinite listing, subject to removal requests or content rules.
  • Ranking is separated from paid promotion through viewer voting and audience Elo.
  • The reusable widget combines a video, optional try link and one primary call to action.
  • Founders can use an existing YouTube video or MP4, or order a reviewed Demo Studio production when they need a demo made.
  • Contact-the-maker requests provide direct inbound messages from viewers on claimed listings.

Cons

  • Submissions are not published immediately; they must pass station review.
  • The widget requires a website location that permits custom HTML or iframe embeds, and interactive demos may be limited by provider frame restrictions.
  • DemoTV measures widget interactions such as plays and clicks, not completed views, signups or guaranteed leads.

FAQ

Is DemoTV free to use?

Yes. Submitting a demo and staying listed are free. An approved listing also includes a reusable website widget. Optional paid services, including airtime, Demo Studio, Featured partners and Launch Week, are separate from ranking.

How do I submit a product demo?

Submit a 30–90 second product demo using a YouTube link or an MP4 upload up to 40 MB. New submissions are reviewed before going live, and DemoTV emails you when the demo is approved.

How does the DemoTV website widget work?

The widget is a responsive iframe that can be added through a website builder’s custom HTML or iframe block. It can contain the product video, an optional tour or interactive-demo link, and one primary action such as visiting a site, starting free, joining a waitlist, booking a demo or claiming an offer.

How are products ranked?

Viewers choose which product they would try in head-to-head Channel Battles. Those votes contribute to an audience Elo score that determines the channel ranking. Paid airtime and sponsorships are labelled placements and do not change Elo or rank.

What does Demo Studio include?

Demo Studio is a separate one-off production service for founders with a working product. It provides automated demo production with human oversight, a 45–60 second landscape MP4, one revision, an approved DemoTV listing with widget, and a launch post; the listed price is $79, and payment does not buy rank.
