FutureMail

FutureMail provides email hosting on a domain you already own, with a web inbox, unlimited addresses, and team access. Its REST API, CLI, remote MCP server, and scoped agent inboxes let software and AI agents send, read, search, and wait for email.

FutureMail

Email hosting for people and AI agents

FutureMail is an email-hosting service for domains you already own. It combines a web inbox for people with domain-based addresses, aliases, threading, search, and support for catch-all and plus-addressing routes.

The service also exposes email operations to software and AI agents through a REST API, command-line interface, remote MCP server, and Resend-compatible API. Agent inboxes use mailbox-scoped keys, allowing an agent to send, read, search, and wait for messages without receiving broader organization access.

Capabilities

Domain email setup

Connect a domain you already own and receive the DNS records needed for DKIM, MX, custom MAIL FROM/SPF, and DMARC, with live verification checks.

Flexible addresses

Create unlimited addresses and aliases, including catch-all and plus-addressing routes, on your connected domains.

Fast web inbox

Use a keyboard-first web inbox with threading and Gmail-style search for day-to-day email management.

Agent inboxes

Give each AI agent a separate mailbox and scoped API key. Agents can send, read, search, and wait for incoming messages.

Developer interfaces

Access the same email data through the REST API, fm CLI, remote Streamable HTTP MCP server, or a Resend-compatible API.

Sending and delivery tools

Use signed webhooks with retries, templates, scheduled and batch sends, delivery timelines, open and click tracking, and a suppression list for supported production workflows.

Practical uses

  • Small-business communication

Set up addresses such as hello@, support@, or invoices@ on a business domain and manage conversations from a shared web inbox without per-seat pricing.

  • AI agent workflows

Create separate mailboxes for signup, research, or automation agents so each agent can work with a dedicated address and narrowly scoped key.

  • Transactional application email

Use the API, CLI, or Resend-compatible endpoint to send application messages such as receipts, notifications, sign-in codes, and replies from a domain you control.

  • Email-based verification

Let an automation wait for an incoming verification email, extract its OTP or links, and continue a task without exposing an entire organization mailbox.

  • Programmatic delivery

Use scheduled sends, batch requests, templates, webhooks, and delivery status information when building email features into an application.

  • The service is paid-only, with no free tier or trial.
  • The first 14 days limit new accounts to 1,000 recipients per day while sending reputation ramps up.

FAQ

Do I need to own a domain to use FutureMail?

Yes. FutureMail requires a domain you already own. After you add it, the service provides DKIM, MX, custom MAIL FROM/SPF, and DMARC records with live verification. Receiving starts when the MX record resolves.

How do I give an AI agent its own mailbox?

Create an agent inbox in Settings, through POST /v1/agents, with the fm CLI, or with the MCP tool create_agent_inbox. The agent receives an address on your domain and an API key scoped to that mailbox.

Can an agent receive email verification codes?

Yes. The waiting endpoint, MCP tool, and CLI can wait for a matching email for up to five minutes and return extracted one-time codes and links when available.

Can I use FutureMail for newsletters or marketing email?

FutureMail is intended for transactional and person-to-person email, such as receipts, notifications, sign-in codes, replies, and conversations. Bulk, marketing, unsolicited email, and purchased lists are not allowed.

What does FutureMail cost?

FutureMail is paid-only. The Pro plan costs $20 per month and includes 50,000 recipients per month, unlimited domains and addresses, agent inboxes, and the API and MCP server. There is no free tier or trial, and plan limits are hard caps with no overage charges.
