Live pixel-art agent office
Agents are represented as characters that sit at desks, type while running, raise a hand when waiting, return to the lounge when idle, and show an error state when a run fails.
Cubicle is a read-only, browser-based pixel-art office for monitoring AI agents from Paperclip, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or a compatible JSON feed. It helps developers see active, waiting, idle, and failed work and optionally respond through task panels or alerts.
Cubicle is a local, browser-based monitoring interface that presents AI-agent activity as a live pixel-art office. It connects to Paperclip, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or a compatible JSON feed and translates agent states into visible office behaviors such as working at a desk, waiting for input, idling in the lounge, or showing an error.
The project is designed for read-only operational visibility rather than agent administration. Users can inspect tasks and failed runs, respond to agents that need attention, view task KPIs, and optionally receive desktop, sound, or Telegram alerts. It runs with Node.js 18 or newer and has no build step or external image assets.
Agents are represented as characters that sit at desks, type while running, raise a hand when waiting, return to the lounge when idle, and show an error state when a run fails.
The interface can show task progress from subtasks, expected finish times, dependencies, and items waiting for input on a KPI board.
Users can respond to waiting agents, chat with them, open a task, or inspect a failed run from a panel beside the office.
Optional desktop notifications and sound signal when an agent needs attention. An optional Telegram bot can send alerts and accept an answer.
The default pixel office can be replaced with HD environments including a headquarters, plaza, warehouse, factory, space base, and military operations room. Customizable character appearances and wall logos are also supported.
The interface supports English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Arabic, including right-to-left Arabic UI support. It can also record a 30-second office video.
Run the office beside a Paperclip workspace to see which agents are active, which issues await review or input, and which runs have failed without navigating through each agent view.
Use Claude Code hooks to represent one character per session, making concurrent local coding sessions visible in one office and highlighting sessions that need a response.
Connect a lightweight service that emits the documented feed format when you need a single visual status board for agents or automations that are not one of the built-in sources.
Run the kiosk layout on a TV or second monitor to provide a shared, at-a-glance display of agent activity. The redaction option can remove task titles, commands, and error text from the office view.
Use desktop notifications, sound, or the optional Telegram bot when the main goal is to respond promptly to agents waiting for approval or other input.
Cubicle requires Node.js 18 or newer. It can be launched with npx, from a cloned repository, or as a systemd unit; a browser can then open the local office at the configured address.
Paperclip is the default source, and Cubicle also includes sources for Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Gemini CLI. Other systems can provide a JSON file or HTTP URL that follows Cubicle’s feed format.
Yes. Cubicle is read-only: it makes GET requests only to a short allowlist and does not change the connected agent system. For custom feeds, it re-reads a file or re-fetches a URL every four seconds.
The feed can contain agent IDs, names, roles, statuses, tasks, errors, parent-agent relationships, and recent steps. Statuses such as running, waiting, error, idle, and paused are represented visually in the office and on agent cards.
